How CRS scoring works
The Comprehensive Ranking System scores every Express Entry candidate out of 1,200 points across four areas: core human capital (age, education, language, Canadian work experience), spouse factors, skill transferability, and additional points like a provincial nomination.

Common questions
What is a good CRS score?
Recent Express Entry draws have invited candidates with scores ranging from the high 300s (for Provincial Nominee or category-based draws) to around 470-540 for general draws. There is no fixed "passing" score — it moves every draw based on the size and profile of the candidate pool.
Does a job offer still add CRS points?
No. IRCC removed CRS points for a valid job offer as of March 25, 2025. A job offer can still help you meet eligibility for some programs, but it no longer boosts your score directly — this calculator reflects that change.
Can I improve my CRS score?
Yes. The fastest gains usually come from improving your language test results (a jump from CLB 7 to CLB 9 in all four abilities adds meaningful points), gaining a Canadian educational credential, or securing a provincial nomination, which adds 600 points and effectively guarantees an invitation.
How accurate is this calculator?
We've built this natively using IRCC's published point tables, cross-checked across multiple current sources. IRCC updates these tables periodically, so treat your result as a strong estimate and confirm anything decision-critical against the official CRS tool on canada.ca.
